Founded in April 2017, the Christina Grimmie Foundation has grown from a heartfelt tribute into a beacon of hope for countless families. Since our launch, we've given over $480,000 to families encountering hardship as a result of gun violence, reaching families nationwide.
While we are able to help with the mass shootings when needed, the majority of our funds are given to the many victims of shootings that do not receive the massive media attention.
Our support has extended to families affected by tragic events in Uvalde, Buffalo, Sacramento, Las Vegas Route 91, and the Thousand Oaks Borderline shootings, providing crucial aid during their most challenging times.
Since inception, we have distributed more than $480,000 to assist families in immediate financial need, ensuring they can focus on healing rather than financial burdens.
We foster a supportive community that rallies around families, offering not just financial aid but a network of care that stands with them.
The Foundation provides tangible services to help these families who are encountering hardship, so that they may focus their energy on healing. People helping people.
Because green was Christina’s favorite color and our logo is anchored with a heart, we affectionately refer to those we serve as “Green Hearts” instead of calling them clients.
Green Heart #1 – A father of three lost his wife, a loving mother in a close knit family. We provided support to help ease their initial financial burden after the shooting and provide support for the children. Bud and Mark Grimmie personally connected with this father to provide encouragement during his time of grief.
Green Heart #2 – A mother lost her husband in an unfortunate shooting incident. During her early time of grief, she did not accept any assistance offered from others. When times became challenging months later, the foundation supported her with child care expenses to allow this mother to restart her life and time to transition into the workplace.
